Formation & Liability

Commingling

By Tim Nichols

In plain English

Mixing money or assets that should be kept separately identified, such as an owner's personal funds and company funds. It can obscure ownership, complicate taxes, and support claims concerning misuse of money. Commingling alone does not automatically make an owner liable for every Texas LLC debt.
